One Month Down

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but we have had a lot of fun this week! On Sunday we headed over to Nationals Park to watch the Nationals play the Phillies. It was so much fun, and was a beautiful park. The pitcher, Strausburg, threw 9 scoreless innings, so it was pretty exciting! Also, the best part of the whole game is they have the presidents come out and race, it is hysterical! We saw Teddy Roosevelt win, which has only happened 5 times before, so we witnessed history.

This week Ryan started training for his job at the Carlyle House, and I had a great week in my classroom. It was a beautiful week so we went on walks to the park in front of the White House and also to the library for story time.  This weekend was also a lot of fun! We went to see The Butler on Friday night, and it was great.  Saturday, we slept in and hung around the house for a while. We decided to head over to the National Zoo, it was great weather for the zoo. We saw so many animals, and found out that this zoo is known for their breeding, and so they have lots of baby animals!

After we left the zoo we headed over to Georgetown to eat dinner and just walk around for a while. We ate at Muncheez Mania, it was delicious. After dinner we walked around and were going to try and get cupcakes from DC cupcakes but the line was so long. So instead we decided to walk over to the Georgetown campus and look around. It was gorgeous! After that we headed to the metro, which of course was a race to the train. Ryan won, but no big deal.
This morning we went to church at Grace Community Church, it was great. After that we headed to my new favorite place in Arlington, District Taco! I can say that besides family and friends, tacos may be the next thing I miss most about Texas, along with a fountain Dr. Pepper. District Taco was delicious. It was a great weekend of adventures and tacos! We are going to Boston next weekend to see Ray, Jana, Mashelle, Olivia, Nic and Rand. We are so excited and can't wait to see them! I will post next week after we get back. So until next time...

Cheers!

  1. Ryan is going to love working in Alexandria. It has so many historical buildings. Be sure to visit Christ Church (built by John Carlyle)!
